Mysuru: BJP MLA TS Srivatsa on Friday accused state home minister G Parameshwara of failing to curb the increasing crime rate, mainly dacoity, in the state.
Speaking to reporters, he demanded that the state home minister give full freedom to the police to curb such illegal activities without any political interference. He also alleged that the state Congress govt is tainted with corruption following scandals in the Karnataka State Maharshi Valmiki Development Corporation, Muda, and the excise department.
He condemned CM Siddaramaiah for not releasing grants to urban-centric assembly segments, including Krishnaraja, represented by him, even though the CM gave Rs 10 to 12 crore to each rural assembly segment after borrowing a Rs 4,000 crore loan. He also criticised the lack of grants for various community development corporations.
BJP to launch statewide protest
He said that the BJP will launch a statewide protest against the increasing harassment of microfinance agencies to people across the state.
State BJP spokesperson MG Mahesh stated that his party will launch a statewide protest if the Lokayukta gives a clean chit to the CM in the Muda scam.
City BJP president L Nagendra said that the party will launch an agitation against the district administration if the deputy commissioner fails to resolve the issues related to the issuance of e-khatas to property holders in the city.
