Bokaro: Police arrested five suspects for the murder of Pintu Nayak on Jan 12 under the Kasmar police station. Nayak, employed at Hazaribag treasury, was shot in his room. The murder weapon, ammunition, and motorcycle used by the accused were seized.
The victim's sister-in-law, Sunita Devi (42) orchestrated the murder by offering a contract of Rs 3 lakh. She executed the plan with the assistance of her nephew (her sister's son) Chhotalal Nayak and his associates, police said.
SP Manoj Swargyari said, “The murder took place following a dispute over a Rs 5 lakh compensation that the family got for NH construction."
The victim's father, Sakul Nayak (65), in his complaint to the police, said that he heard gunshots inside the house on the night of Jan 12. He told the police that he also saw two youths fleeing from Pintu's room towards the terrace.
"The arrested accused are Chhotelal Nayak, Tima Turi, Rahul Kashyap, Ajit Kumar and Sunita Devi. All of them have admitted their involvement in the crime. Chhotelal and Tima had fired one shot each. Three people had gone to carry out the incident, while Rahul had kept the weapons and other things for them."
