Agartala: Tripura is set to present the customs of Kharchi Puja and highlight its state's cultural heritage at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on Jan 26, alongside displays from other states, as confirmed by officials on Thursday.
The parade will feature 26 tableaus from various states, showcasing the nation's cultural diversity. Tripura's presentation has been allocated the 19th position in the sequence.
The state's tableau will highlight Kharchi Puja, its associated ceremonies, and the worship of 14 royal deities, reflecting India's cultural richness. The display combines traditional elements with contemporary features, incorporating bamboo structures, technological elements, and traditionally dressed models.
The presentation will showcase the 14 deities crafted from bamboo and cane. Additionally, the tableau will feature the worship of Ha-Buma (earth mother) and traditional cultural performances.
Officials said the display will incorporate bamboo and floral arrangements with contemporary artistic elements. They added that a priest in traditional garments will demonstrate ceremonial rituals.
