Triptii Dimri On 'Overtly Sexualised’ Image After Animal: 'We Won't Always Be Liked By Everybody'
Triptii is now focusing on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara, which was initially set to feature Kartik Aaryan but will now star Shahid Kapoor.

Triptii Dimri’s career soared with her role in Animal, marking her entry into Bollywood’s mainstream. However, the role also attracted criticism, which the actress has taken in stride. In a recent interview, she addressed the backlash and asserted that she has no regrets about her choices.
In an interview with Forbes India, Triptii revealed that she remains unfazed by the scrutiny surrounding her roles in Animal and Bad Newz. “I am someone who wants to give 100 percent. If I find the character or the story interesting, I want to give my all. That’s what I’ve learned—if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. We won’t always be liked by everybody. There will be some people who like you, and some who don’t. You can’t keep all that noise in mind. You have to follow your heart and do things that you feel are right," she said.

When asked whether she is deliberately trying to move away from her “overtly sexualised" image, Triptii dismissed the notion. “I am going with the flow. The aim is to play different characters because I don’t want to go to a set and feel bored. I want to feel challenged and wonder, ‘How will this happen?’—and then make it happen," she explained.
Triptii further mentioned that she chose the role of Zoya in Animal because she wanted to do something different. She also cited her decision to play Vidya in Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video as part of the same effort to diversify her roles.
Recently, rumours suggested that Triptii was dropped from Aashiqui 3 alongside Kartik Aaryan for being “too exposed." Reports claimed the makers wanted someone with a “pure demeanour" for the role. However, filmmaker Anurag Basu denied these claims, telling Mid-Day, “That’s not true, and Triptii knows it too."
Triptii is now focusing on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara, which was initially set to feature Kartik Aaryan but will now star Shahid Kapoor. She will also soon begin shooting for Dhadak 2, opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, directed by Shazia Iqbal under Dharma Productions.
