A first-year student of Narayana College in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur tragically died by suicide after jumping from the third floor of his college building on Thursday. The incident, captured on CCTV, has left classmates and teachers in shock.
The disturbing footage shows the student, identified as Charan, leaving his classroom during an ongoing session. He calmly walked towards the ledge and jumped off, while his peers and teacher were unaware of his intentions. The incident occurred around 11:55 am, according to the CCTV timestamp.

Anantapur Rural Sub-Divisional Police Officer T. Venkateshulu stated that Charan had just returned to college after Sankranti holidays. “The boy came to the college around 9:30 am on Thursday. During the class, he suddenly stepped out and jumped from the third floor,” said Venkateshulu.
Declared Dead Upon Arrival at Hospital
The college management immediately rushed Charan to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. The intermediate student hailed from Ramapuram village in Batthenapalli mandal, Sri Sathyasai District.
Investigation Underway
The reason behind the tragic incident is yet to be determined. Police are currently investigating and have contacted the boy’s family to register a formal complaint.
The incident has sparked conversations around student mental health, academic pressures, and the need for better support systems in educational institutions.
