The Government of Telangana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CtrlS Data Centres Ltd in Davos on Wednesday to establish an AI Data centre Cluster in Telangana at an estimated investment of ₹10,000 crore in the State.
The 400-MW capacity cluster will generate 3,600 jobs (direct and indirect), according to D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for IT and Industries.
“The AI Data centre Cluster will not only enhance the State’s IT capabilities but also create substantial employment opportunities, contributing to our vision of inclusive growth,” he said.
Meanwhile, HCLTech, an IT services company, announced its plans to expand operations in Hyderabad.
The announcement came after the meeting Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu with HCLTech’s Global CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting being held at Davos.
“The new centre will be providing cutting-edge cloud, AI and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences and financial services. Located in the IT hub of Madhapur, the 3.20-lakh sft facility will house 5,000 IT employees,” a Chief Minister’s Office statement said.
HCLTech started its operations in Hyderabad in 2007. With the addition of the new centre, its footprint will span five centres across the city with capacity of 8,500 seats.
