Arshdeep Singh's white-ball exploits are causing a stir, especially during the match against England in Kolkata, where he overtook Yuzvendra Chahal to become India's top wicket-taker in T20Is.

By capturing his 97th wicket in T20I cricket, he surpassed Chahal's previous record of 96 to accomplish this noteworthy milestone. Having already tied Chahal's record by dismissing Phil Salt for a duck with the third delivery of the innings, Arshdeep removed Ben Duckett in his second over.

With 95 wickets in 60 games since making his debut in 2022, Arshdeep has shown to be an important bowler for India. He is the chosen option for India in the shorter format because of his exceptional poise and control, particularly in crucial situations.

Interestingly, Arshdeep has surpassed Jasprit Bumrah, the top pacer, who has claimed 89 wickets in 69 innings at a remarkable economy rate of 6.27. Arshdeep's next objective is to take 100 wickets, which would solidify his reputation as the first bowler from India to accomplish this accomplishment.

He will also become the fastest bowler in T20I history to reach 100 wickets if he accomplishes this feat during the current five-match series against England. Arshdeep has only played 60 games thus far, while Haris Rauf holds the current record, having accomplished this in 71 games.

It appears highly probable that Arshdeep will reach this milestone and cement his legacy in cricket history with four games remaining in the T20I series against England.
