Lucknow: Vice-Chancellor of HNB Medical University, Dehradun and former Vice-Chancellor of KGMU Prof Madan Lal Bhatt took charge as the director of Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute and Hospital (KSSSCIH).
He succeeds SGPGIMS director Prof RK Dhiman, who held the additional charge since 2021. Prof Dhiman congratulated Prof Bhatt and expressed confidence in his leadership to further develop the institute.
Prof Bhatt said, "My focus will be on improving the institute's infrastructure, enhancing patient care and advancing research and academics. We aim to make KSSSCIH a centre of excellence for cancer treatment, not just in Uttar Pradesh but across India, while working towards expanding it to a 1,250-bed facility in the coming years."
Under Prof Dhiman's leadership, the institute expanded to 750 beds. Govt approved 503 non-teaching and 62 faculty posts, along with 565 new positions.
