Two cops suspended for laxity

Varanasi: Commissioner of Police Mohit Agrawal suspended two constables of Sigra police station for overlooking orders for preparing dossiers of criminals on Monday night.
While reviewing progress of the tasks assigned to each police station for preparing dossiers of criminals caught in the past three years for involvement in theft, vehicle lifting, loot, extortion, and other crimes, the CP found that crime clerks (head constables), including Amrish Kumar Rai of Sigra and Sunil Kumar Bharati of Kotwali police station, were lax in their duties. Taking note of this, he ordered their suspension with immediate effect.
During his meeting last week, the CP assigned tasks not only to prepare dossiers of criminals but also to prepare a fresh list of the top-10 criminals at both the police station and district levels. tnn
