US President Donald Trump’s youngest son Barron Trump became a crowd favourite at his father’s inauguration ceremony. The 6-foot, 7-inch Trump scion was seen behind the podium bearing the presidential seal, as he donned a dark tailored suit complete with an American flag lapel pin. Barron is the US President’s only child with his wife Melania.

In videos shared widely on social media, the 18-year-old was seen surveying the crowd, smiling and waving to an unseen audience member like a politician in waiting. Social media users said that the visual indicated Barron’s potential future, even though he won’t be eligible to run for US President for another 17 years.

Donald Trump said, “I have a very tall son named Barron… has anyone ever heard of him?" as the attendees broke into loud cheer. He added, “He knew the youth vote. We won the youth vote by 36 points. He was saying – ‘Dad, you have to go out and do this one or that one’. We did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood them very well."

Earlier, Melania Trump said in an interview about her son, “I’m very proud of him for his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people. He knows his generation because, nowadays, the young generation, they don’t sit in front of the TV anymore. They’re all on tablets, phones, podcasts, and streamers. He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father. It was incredible how he contributed to the campaign’s success because he knew exactly who his father needed to connect with."

Barron meets Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Barron Trump was praised for his politeness as he was seen extending a courteous handshake to outgoing US President Joe Biden and former Vice-President Kamala Harris following his father’s swearing-in.
