A cutting-edge event space is set to debut at Battersea Power Station in Spring 2025, brought to life by NEON, a global pioneer in immersive experiences and exhibitions.
This first-ever purpose-built entertainment and cultural exhibition venue in Central London is situated on Circus Road East, adjacent to the iconic Battersea Power Station. The space will host NEON’s renowned immersive experiences, with a flagship exhibition to be announced soon, marking the beginning of a series of innovative showcases.
Construction of the venue is progressing swiftly, with the installation of its impressive 3,200-square-metre, 128-tonne roof structure earlier this year. The feat was accomplished using 48 synchronized chain hoists. Designed by Expo Pavilion Group (EPG | UAU-Studio) with a striking facade, and executed by Star Live as the principal contractor and design engineers, the venue promises architectural excellence.
Ron Tan, CEO and Executive Chairman of NEON says, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of a brand-new exhibition space and look forward to bringing our world-renowned immersive experiences to Battersea Power Station, which has quickly established itself as a vibrant centre of creativity and community since the restored Power Station opened its doors to the public for the first time in history in October 2022.”
Adding vibrancy to London’s cultural scene, NEON’s Battersea venue will feature highlights from its portfolio of award-winning global exhibitions, such as Machu Picchu: The Golden Empires of Peru and Jurassic World: The Exhibition. These semi-permanent experiences aim to draw visitors from across the globe, enhancing the city’s position as a cultural powerhouse.
The venue’s launch coincides with Wandsworth’s designation as The London Borough of Culture, further bolstering Battersea Power Station’s status as a thriving cultural hub. Already home to over 150 shops, restaurants, and leisure spots, the riverside neighborhood is known for events like the Light Festival and celebrASIA. In 2024, National Geographic recognized Battersea Power Station as one of the world’s top 20 “Best Cultural Spots.”
NEON at Battersea Power Station will host two unique exhibitions annually, combining proprietary experiences and collaborations with billion-dollar studios. These large-scale, immersive events attract nearly one million visitors worldwide each year, solidifying NEON’s position as a leader in experiential content.
Sam Cotton, Head of Asset Management at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “The opening of NEON’s new exhibition space at Battersea Power Station supports our vision to deliver a vibrant centre for arts, culture, entertainment and community engagement. We are excited to see Londoners and visitors from further afield come together to enjoy these globally celebrated experiences and we’re delighted to open this exciting new exhibition space in the year that Wandsworth has been named The London Borough of Culture.”
To celebrate its grand opening, NEON will distribute 5,000 complimentary tickets to local schools, providing students with a firsthand opportunity to engage with world-class exhibitions. An additional 1,000 free tickets will be offered to local charities, community groups, and youth organizations, underscoring NEON’s commitment to accessible cultural experiences for all.
With its ambitious vision and global appeal, NEON’s Battersea Power Station venue is poised to become a landmark destination in London’s cultural landscape.
