Ranchi: Jharkhand Gau Sewa Aayog (JGSA) on Monday distributed fiscal assistance of around Rs 1.25 crore across different cow shelters to meet infrastructural upgrade and other needs. Officials said that the move is aimed at providing better facilities at cow shelters.
Chairman of JGSA, Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, while addressing the representatives of the cow shelters on the occasion said, "Continuous efforts are on to make the cow shelters in Jharkhand self-reliant. Our aim is to support cow shelters with govt aid. Cow shelters should further send their proposals for further empowerment, such as high mast lights, biogas units, cow dung and urine-based enterprises, conservation of indigenous cows, and cow sanctuaries to the commission for technical and financial evaluation for grants."
Vice-chairman of JGSA, Raju Giri, highlighted that the current progress of Jharkhand is due to good intentions of the govt. "The neglect of cow shelters over the past decade is being addressed by the current govt, resulting in over Rs 3 crore being allocated to strengthen them in the past year," he said.
