The national selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, met at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters on Saturday to finalise the squad for India's forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In a strategic move, Rohit Sharma has been selected captain of Team India, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul also joining the squad.

In an exciting development, Rishabh Pant has cemented his berth in the team by proving his wicketkeeping abilities. Furthermore, the arrival of Jasprit Bumrah improves India's bowling lineup.

However, Bumrah's participation is contingent on his fitness, as tournament regulations allow squad changes up to a week before the event begins. If Bumrah is unable to recuperate in time, India will need to find another speed bowler to replace him.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav, who is recovering from surgery, has been training hard to rediscover his form at the National Cricket Academy. His dedication has paid off, and he has earned a spot on the team.

India's Champions Trophy squad: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vc), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar PAtel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep SIngh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.
