Lucknow: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), regional campus, Lucknow, successfully concluded training for two batches of trained graduate teachers (TGTs) and postgraduate teachers (PGTs) of English from PM SHRI schools of Uttar Pradesh.
"This series of training programmes is part of an initiative to enhance the quality of education in PM SHRI Schools (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India), which are model institutions aimed at providing high-quality education, fostering holistic development, and promoting innovative teaching methods in alignment with the national education policy (NEP)," said officials.
The valedictory session for the second batch was held on Friday at the multipurpose hall, academic block, EFLU regional campus. Principal, Markand National College, Shahabad, Kurukshetra and National vice-chairman, Bharat Ko Jano project, Bharat Vikas Parishad Ashok Kumar was the chief guest. The session was presided over by Prof Rajneesh Arora, director of EFLU regional campus.
In his address, Ashok Kumar highlighted the transformative role of such training programmes in equipping teachers with advanced pedagogical tools and English communication skills. He underscored the necessity of preparing students with global competencies, aligning with NEP goals. He discussed the role of the project, Bharat Ko Jano, to inculcate Indian values amongst students.
On the occasion, experts emphasised the importance of teachers implementing the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their classrooms to foster more effective learning outcomes. They also lauded the efforts taken by Ashok Kumar to promote the Indian value system under the project, Bharat Ko Jano. They thanked the officials of Samagra Shiksha (Madhyamik) and PM SHRI schools for entrusting EFLU with this responsibility.
The training programme featured sessions on phonetics, communication skills, classroom language, competency-based assessment, and NEP-aligned teaching methodologies. Participants of the programme praised the programme's comprehensive and engaging approach, describing the sessions as transformative.
