Min directs timely irrigation for farmers in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: UP's Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh conducted a departmental review meeting at the Circuit House on Friday. Emphasizing the importance of timely irrigation, the minister instructed irrigation department officials to ensure the uninterrupted supply of water in canals to meet farmers' needs within stipulated deadlines.
Singh directed the chief engineer of the department to personally inspect field operations and gather feedback on the frequency of field visits conducted by subordinate officers.He further advised officials to organize village meetings (chaupals) to actively listen to farmers' concerns and resolve them as required.
Stressing the importance of project timelines, the minister urged all executing agencies to complete ongoing projects within their set deadlines. He also suggested that local polytechnic and ITI-trained youths be engaged in these projects to generate employment opportunities.
