‘Change Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat timing’
Nagpur: The Divisional Railway Users' Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of the South East Central Railway (SECR) wants change in timing of the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat train to match with that of the Nagpur-Indore Vande Bharat for better connectivity. The suggestion came up in the meeting between the DRUCC and SECR authorities, headed by divisional regional manager (DRM) Deepak Kumar Gupta and other officials, including ADRM SP Chandrikapure and Sr divisional commercial manager Dilip Singh.
The DRUCC representatives also underlined the need to increase the stoppage and frequency of the trains passing through Wadsa, which is the only railway station in Gadchiroli district. There also demanded permanent stoppages for some key long-distance trains at Dongargaon station, which sees heavy footfall of devotees at the nearby holy places. The members also pointed out that there were no lifts or escalators at the Kamptee station, while platform number six in Gondia station lacked digital display facilities.
Apart from security, safety, and operational issues, the members also insisted on making battery-operated cars available in key stations for the physically challenged and the elderly. The members also demanded stoppages at Wadsa and Sondad railway stations for the Chanda Fort-Jabalpur intercity.
DRM Gupta assured to extend his help to the committee and look into the issues either at his level or take up the proposals with the railway boards.
