Brazilian national booked for stealing expensive watches at duty-free shop in Bengaluru

The Kempegowda International Airport police have registered a case of theft against a Brazilian national for stealing two expensive branded watches from a duty-free shop recently.

The theft came to light on Monday during an audit of the shop and verification of the CCTV camera found that the customer identified as Ravi Gama De Sa pocked two expensive watches while checking the other branded watches at the Ethos duty-free shop situated at Terminal 2.

According to an employee of the shop, the accused visited the shop and selected a watch worth $1,000 and later started checking out other brands. He selected two other watches to purchase and while checking he slipped two watches worth ₹2.3 lakh in the pocket.

Later, he hurried out on the pretext that his boarding time was approaching. The complaint was submitted along with the passport details and CCTV camera footage for further investigation.
