AIADMK general secretary and the Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday (January 15, 2025) called for strict legal action against the man who was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a woman research scholar of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

In a social media post, Mr. Palaniswami urged the DMK government to ensure that there is a safe environment for women in Tamil Nadu.

He also condemned the management of IIT-Madras for not ensuring safety of women students and the DMK government for increasing incidents of crimes against women.
