Saif Ali Khan stabbed with knife: Suspect who attacked actor caught on CCTV camera

The intruder used the staircase to escape after attacking Saif Ali Khan in his home on early Thursday morning.

CCTV visuals of the unidentified intruder who repeatedly stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan inside his apartment in Mumbai's Bandra on early Thursday morning have been traced on the sixth floor of the building. The star lives on the 12th floor of Satguru Sharan apartments. As per the sources, the intruder used the staircase to escape after the attack.

Khan's domestic help, who raised initial alarm after the incident that took place around 2.30 am, lodged a police complaint for trespassing and attempt to murder, the sources added. As per the doctors at the Lilavati Hospital where Khan was rushed, he was out of danger after undergoing a surgery.

Doctor Nitin Dange, who was part of the surgery, told the media, "Saif Ali Khan was admitted in at 2:00 am. He sustained major injury to the spinal cord, in the thoracic spinal cord due to the lodged knife in the spine. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and also repair the leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now and recovering well."

Saif Ali Khan's team said in its official statement, "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police are investigating the incident. We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time."
