Nagpur: The festive joy of Makar Sankranti took a grim turn when another fatal incident related to kite flying was reported in the city. A 36-year-old man lost his life after falling from a second-floor terrace while flying a kite. The incident occurred in the Joshiwadi area under the jurisdiction of Ajni police station.
The deceased, identified as Krishna Jagatnil Bairikar, was flying kites on Tuesday evening around 5.30pm. While engrossed in the activity, he lost his balance and fell from the second-floor terrace, sustaining severe injuries.
His family members rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he was admitted for treatment. Despite efforts by the medical team, Krishna succumbed to injuries late at night around 12.35am.
Ajni police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated an investigation.
