Here is a complete build:

Total is around 2.3L. I have chosen the 7900XT, which will give you decent 4K performance, with 20 GB of VRAM. It's as fast as a 4070Ti Super in Rasterization. I don't know if you prefer RT.

Since this is a gaming system, the 7800X3D is king here. If you scale down to 1440p, your gaming experience will be better.

I will recommend 4080S over 7900XTX easily because RT matter at this performance class & DLSS upscaling is superior. 16GB VRAM should be good for 4K textures, at least till PS6 launch.

But if you are thinking of buying a high end GPU, can decide to wait for RTX 5080.

Monitor - 4K 144Hz options like Samsung G7 & Gigabyte M28U costs around 40-45k, wait for upcoming sale on amazon for monitor deals

Thank you @PunkX 75 and @OMEGA44-XT for the configs! Sorry for the super late reply. Was busy with work.

Is there any place I can look for benchmarks of both the GPUs to check which one would be better?

Hardware Unboxed youtube channel is my top pick but there are many other sources like Tom's Hardware mentioned earlier.

How important is ray tracing for the gaming experience?

For 1L+ GPU, very important. For anything cheaper, ignore it. Games are unoptimised, so the extra performance of 50-60k GPUs over its predecessor doesn't help at all to be able to afford RT.

Daniel owen on youtube does extensive and great comparisons you should look him up too.

Hello, @PunkX 75 and @OMEGA44-XT .

Considering today's date, would you recommend the same configs as above or are there any upgrades that you would recommend?

you could wait for new gpus to be properly launched soon. Might get downward pricing pressure.
Its just rumours now but 9070xt might have good performance at good price and good vram, might trigger price reductions from nvidia too although high tiers wont have competition this time from amd.

Wait for 2 more months considering you have waited for so long. At least wait for GPUs to be available. Target 5070Ti or 5080, if you can increase budget a bit.

Sadly 7800X3D is no longer at those prices, will have to pay more for 9800X3D.

This is kind of the best-case scenario rumours of performance:

If I plan to buy the 4xxx series nVidia GPU, then? I think 5xxx series will take quite some time to come at MRP in India. Also, should I go for 7800x3d of 9800x3d?

There is a 7k difference between the two so it depends on your budget. Considering you are willing to spend 2 lakhs, I would suggest getting the 9800X3D because it will certainly age better and last you for a long time.

The 9800X3D is GPU limited by even the 4090 so you would be better off with an RTX 5080 I feel (if the prices aren't insane). Else if you would like to game right away, don't buy anything less than the 4070 Ti Super and personal advice would be the 4080 Super.
