Car maker Kia India rolled out the first customer unit of its latest SUV, Syros, from the company’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

It is the company’s newest ‘Made-in-India’ offering and garnered 10,258 bookings thus far across variants and powertrain combinations, Kia said on January 16 ahead of the first public display of the SUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo that opens in New Delhi on January 17.

The vehicle’s pricing will be revealed on February 1, with deliveries to customers following shortly after.

Kia, which globally unveiled the vehicle in December 2024, said a milestone ceremony was organised at the Anantapur plant to mark beginning of Syros production. Senior Kia executives and employees, including president and CEO of Kia Corporation Ho Sung Song and Managing Director of Kia India Gwanggu Lee attended the function, the company said.

It is set to redefine the Indian automotive landscape with features and segment-leading innovations, Mr. Song said in a release on Syros launch. “Just as we did with the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, we are excited to welcome a new wave of customers to the Kia brand...,” he said.

The latest SUV has been designed with Indian consumers in mind, offering hi tech features, enhanced space and comfort without altering the vehicle’s overall size. It comes with Kia Connect Diagnostics that allows real-time on-site vehicle diagnosis to the customer. Additionally, the Kia Advance Total Care programme provides pre-emptive vehicle maintenance notification to customers to avoid breakdown.

Syros is designed for urban drivers and tech-savvy adventurers and offers 20 advanced safety features, including electronic stability control, hill start assist, six airbags and vehicle stability management. Additionally, the SUV comes with 16 autonomous features with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) such as forward collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor and smart cruise control, Kia India said.

Syros is available in multiple powertrain options, four standard trims and two optional trims.
