Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his residence around 2:30 AM by a thief who broke into the house with the intention of robbery. During the confrontation, the thief stabbed Saif multiple times, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery for severe injuries to his hand, back, and spine.

The first surgery, performed on his hand during the night, was successful. However, a critical spine surgery was required, which lasted about an hour and a half.

Saif sustained a 10 cm deep wound on his neck, along with significant injuries to his back and hand. Despite the severity of the attack, Saif assured his fans in an official statement, saying, “I am out of danger.” He confirmed the attempted robbery at his residence and urged everyone to remain calm.

In his statement to the police, Saif recounted the incident: “I was sitting at home when someone attacked me from behind. I tried to fight back, but the attacker injured me severely. My wife Kareena and my children were home at the time, and I resisted to protect them. However, due to the injuries and significant blood loss, I couldn’t overpower the attacker.”

The police revealed that the thief stabbed Saif five to six times during the struggle. Four staff members working at Saif’s residence have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident. Further investigations are underway.
