Nilgiri is the lead ship of Project 17A frigates, Vaghsheer is the sixth and the final boat of Project 75 Kalvari class submarines, and INS Surat is the fourth and final ship of Project 15B destroyers

It was a historic day for the country as Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three vessels in the Indian Navy on January 15 - INS Nilgiri, INS Vaghsheer and INS Surat - in Mumbai.

Nilgiri is the lead ship of Project 17A frigates, Vaghsheer is the sixth and final boat of Project 75 Kalvari class submarines, and Surat is the fourth and final ship of Project 15B destroyers.

We speak to the men and women officers on the strategic importance of these three vessels.
