India Open 2025 Badminton Day 2 Highlights: It was a mixed opening day of the India Open 2025 for Indian shuttlers. PV Sindhu and the doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty had to dig deep for victories.
Sindhu looked a bit rusty but managed to battle through a 21-14, 22-20 victory over world No. 24 Sung Shuo Yun of Chinese Taipei.
In men’s doubles, title contenders Satwiksairaj and Shetty, seeded 7th, overcame a few nervous moments to defeat Malaysia’s world No. 7 duo, Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee, 23-21, 19-21, 21-16.
HS Prannoy and Lakshay Sen both conceded big defeats to Taiwan’s Li-Yang Su and Chun-Yi Lin respectively. The Prerana Alvekar-Mrunmayee Deshpande duo couldn’t save the day in the final match of the day, losing 8-21, 19-21.
