Mangaluru: A PRO of a medical college and the hospital staff were allegedly threatened and assaulted on Monday.
In a complaint, Swastik AS, working as a PRO at a medical college in Sullia, alleged that the incident took place when he was on duty. Two individuals arrived at the hospital after a motorcycle accident, seeking treatment. When the complainant enquired about the incident, they allegedly shouted aggressively, demanding immediate treatment and threatening to kill him if their demands were not met.
The situation escalated in the emergency unit, when about six staff members intervened. The accused allegedly abused the staff members verbally and threatened them. When the complainant and the staff tried to calm them and assured them treatment, the accused retaliated by questioning them, and suddenly assaulted the complainant and three others, using their hands. They are accused of attacking other staff members and security personnel. The hospital staff provided treatment to the individuals and later identified them as Dev Chintan and Shiva Prasad. A case was registered at the Sullia police station.
