Gurgaon: Chief secretary Vivek Joshi on Tuesday asked the district administration and HSIIDC to explore acquiring 1,750sqm of land under the Disaster Management Act to build a drain and address the persistent waterlogging problem at Narsinghpur on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
The decision was taken at a high-level coordination meeting that focused on expediting key civic and infrastructure projects across the city.
The move addresses recurring monsoon disruptions on NH-8, which experiences severe waterlogging annually. While GMDA previously planned to construct a 750m drain connecting the highway with Badshapur drain, the project remains stalled.
"Waterlogging at Narsingpur must be resolved on priority. We need proactive coordination between departments and greater engagement with citizens to solicit practical solutions. Active public participation is essential for effective grievance redressal," chief secretary Vivek Joshi said.
On the drainage project at Rajiv Chowk, Joshi asked the forest department to expedite approvals for utilising forest land.
Despite GMDA issuing tenders twice, work has not started here. The chief secretary also urged stakeholders to ensure timely project execution to prevent future disruptions.
Addressing delays in constructing 25 roads across the new sectors, Joshi asked HSVP officials to resolve land acquisition disputes.
Pending issues at approximately 40 locations have hindered road connectivity and affected essential infrastructure, including water supply, sewer lines, and drainage systems.
