Nagpur: Depicting the birth of Christ with an operatic twist, the Christmas Cantata, organised by SFS Parish, will be held at the St Francis De Sales Cathedral on December 17 from 6pm onwards.
A packed house comprising nearly 2,500-3,000 people is on the cards.
Based on the story of the birth of the Saviour, it will portray the transformation of people living in despair, darkness, and persecution into a state of joy, light, and happiness. Through cherished, heartfelt music and unforgettable scenes, the Christmas Cantata offers an experience that is sure to brighten and uplift hearts. The show includes praise of worship songs that glorify the Almighty, a performance with little children dressed as Santas, a musical rendition of the Nativity, and the message of hope, peace and joy which is the purpose of the event.
Delivering the message of the ‘Greatest Gift for All,' the Christmas Cantata aims to fill audiences with profound joy and happiness, extending the celebration to underprivileged communities, including orphanages, old age homes, and individuals with physical and mental challenges.
Every December, the Cantata is performed in over 20 cities across Maharashtra and is presented in the local language to connect deeply with diverse communities. Reaching over 23,000 people last year, the team works to bring joy and thankfulness into people's hearts, especially during the Christmas season. Driven by the commitment to share true happiness and gratitude with those in need. The Cantata team comprises of individuals from diverse backgrounds such as students, professionals, homemakers, and both full and part-time volunteers from various fields who unite with the shared purpose of spreading the gospel from the hearts of big cities to the smallest of the villages.
Fr Sebestiraj, Rector of SFS Parish, is heading the organizing committee with a dedicated team to make the event a success.
