Koderma: A medical team was rushed to Vindomoh Birhor hamlet on Tuesday after residents of a family complained of skin rash.
Koderma civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said that the skin problem started with one person and soon spread to other members of the family. All have been given medicines and are being monitored, he added. Health workers have been asked to visit the hamlet on a regular basis to monitor the situation.
On Monday, Koderma deputy commissioner, Megha Bhardwaj directed Domchanch BDO Bhola Pandey to take stock of the situation.
BDO said, "The family, including two infants, are suffering from the disease. They are being monitored now."
Birhor tribes are the smallest known primitive tribe of Jharkhand.
