Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday discussed proposals and key demands to be presented to the 16th Finance Commission on Jan 9 and 10.
Sawant chaired a comprehensive finance review meeting with secretaries and heads of departments in preparation for the upcoming visit of the 16th Finance Commission to the state. He said the meeting focused on assessing the financial progress of key departments, reviewing revenue generation, departmental expenditure, and the status of ongoing infrastructure projects across Goa.
He also mentioned that detailed deliberations were held on proposals and key demands to be presented to the 16th Finance Commission, ensuring alignment with the state’s development priorities and financial needs.
Sawant said that the review meeting aimed to consolidate Goa’s position and secure adequate support for its infrastructural and economic growth, emphasising strategic planning and efficient resource allocation.
