New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was brutally murdered by four men after he was caught in a compromising position with a woman at her residence in Shastri Park on Monday. The victim's family claimed that the accused removed his nails and inflicted injury marks all over his body. Two of the accused were arrested.
The incident occurred when the woman's husband returned home and caught his wife and her paramour in a compromising position. He lost his temper and assaulted the duo.
Police said the arrested accused were identified as Ajmat and his friend, Sarfaraz, both residents of Shastri Park. The victim was identified as Ritik Verma. Verma had several injury marks on his entire body and a blunt wound on his forehead.
Rameshwar, Verma's uncle, claimed that the accused thrashed him for at least one hour. "They removed his clothes and continuously thrashed him after closing the door. People gathered at the spot, but no one tried to save him," he said. The uncle also refuted the claim that Verma had any relation with the woman.
A police officer said the motive for the murder was revenge. "The accused's wife was having an affair with Verma for the last couple of months. At 11 am on Monday, when he reached home, he caught his wife and Verma in a compromising position. Ajmat lost his temper and assaulted both his wife and Ritik. He then called his three friends and they thrashed the youth together," he added.
The accused has been apprehended and further investigation is underway.
