Ranchi's Deputy Commissioner directed Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences to implement a digital bed availability display for transparency and stress reduction. He also enforced stricter sanitation, ensured medicine stock, improved outpatient services with magistrate checks, and streamlined deceased arrival protocols. A hospital manager will be appointed, and emergency zone access improved.
RANCHI: In order to improve the functioning of the state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Bariatu, deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri directed authorities to set up a digital display for real-time information on the availability of beds.
He also issued a slew of directives for continuous medical care and enhanced emergency response capabilities.
“A digital display will bring transparency in the allocation of beds to assist families of patients. It is also crucial for effective management and reducing the stress of patients' families," Bhajantri said.
The administration implemented stricter sanitation rules for emergency and trauma units. "Regular cleaning at specified intervals is non-negotiable to maintain hygiene in critical areas," he added.
The hospital will maintain a constant stock of medicines and surgical supplies. To improve outpatient services, magistrates will conduct checks to verify the attendance of medical personnel and support staff. Patients will receive prompt consultations without unnecessary delays.
The administration will implement new protocols for cases involving deceased arrivals to provide organised support to bereaved families.
The deputy commissioner also ordered the appointment of a hospital manager and the clearance of obstacles near emergency zones.
