Ranchi: Congress, part of the ruling alliance in the state on Monday urged students/job aspirants to maintain calm and restrain stating that the INDIA bloc govt is committed to welfare of job seekers and working to fill vacancies in phased manner.
The statements came on a day when thousands of JSSC's CGL aspirants hit to streets in Ranchi to gherao the staff selection commission's headquarter in Namkum to press for cancellation of the JSSC's CGL 2023 exam. From Monday, the Commission began verification of certificates of over 2000 candidates who qualified in the exam which was held on Sep 21 and 22. Results were declared around two weeks back.
However, several aspirants backed by students bodies and opposition parties have been accusing paper-leak in this exam demanding its cancellation. BJP had been demanding a CBI probe while JSSC has denied any irregularities.
Addressing a press conference at state Congress headquarter, state party president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said, "Our govt is concerned about students and youth. The CM has already ordered a CID investigation, and students need not be overly agitated. The govt wants to provide them with employment, and all matters can be resolved through dialogue. The govt is committed to employment and is very sensitive about this matter."
Congress's legislative party's deputy leader and Khijri MLA Rajesh Kacchap on the other hand accused BJP of playing politics over the issue. He said, "Since last five years, our govt has been working to rectify all the wrong actions during the BJP's misrule. BJP couldn't conduct a single public service exam when it was in power, but we had been doing so. All appointments made during the BJP's rule are pending in court and are embroiled in disputes. As far as JSSC's CGL is concerned, our govt is keeping strict vigil over the process and won't allow any wrongdoings."
The party has also announced to soon gherao Raj Bhavan against Narendra Modi govt for running away from debate in the Parliament in connection to the Adani issue in the wake of allegations of financial fraud against the corporate by the U.S. Department of Justice.
"Avoiding parliamentary discussion on the Adani issue and the silence of the central are concerning issues," said Mahto.
Meanwhile, state BJP president Babulal Marandi has condemned the lathicharge incident calling it as an attempt to crush democratic rights of the students and job seekers. He reiterated party's demand for a CBI probe into the exam row. He said, "CM should immediately recommend a CBI investigation to resolve the deadlock. The baton charge on students protesting irregularities in the JSSC CGL exam is inhumane and condemnable." President of JLKM party and Dumri MLA Jairam Mahto too called it as an attempt to thwart voices of protests against 'govt sponsored' irregularities stating that several members of his party too got grievously hurt in today's protest.
