Bengaluru: Two persons were killed in separate accidents in the city since Saturday evening.
In Electronics City, a 30-year-old bike rider was knocked down by a speeding cab around 3.45am on Sunday near Konappana Agrahara junction. Nagesh is a resident of Govindashettypalya. Both the biker and the car were heading towards Electronics City.
The car hit the bike from behind, resulting in Nagesh falling on the road. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The car driver, identified as Yogesh, was arrested.
In another incident, a man waiting to cross the road was knocked down by a speeding canter near KR Puram Metro station on Saturday evening. Marvin Andrew, 38, from A Narayanapura, and was working as an office helper in a private firm.
According to Mahadevapura traffic police, Andrew got down at a bus stop and was waiting to cross the road and head towards his house. He was hit by the canter at 7.15pm. Andrew was declared brought dead at a hospital. The canter driver abandoned his vehicle and fled. Later in the night, he appeared before police, and the test proved that he was not drunk.
