Bokaro: JMM workers protested at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) over the death of Babulal Soren, a contract worker at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), demanding employment and compensation for his family.
JMM city president Mantu Yadav said that Soren's body had been in the BGH mortuary for three days. "We are demanding job and compensation for the deceased's family, as he was the sole breadwinner. BSL denied employment benefits citing his temporary gate pass status under the contractor, which doesn't meet company norms," said Yadav.
The party demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, alleging delayed medical care at the plant's facility. They called for action against responsible officers and the contract company.
According to family members, Soren suffered an accident on November 27 while working for Shailaja Enterprises. They claimed BSL officials and the contractor delayed his treatment, eventually leading to his referral to a private hospital in Ranchi, where he died on December 13.
