New Delhi: A male passenger, who arrived from Riyadh at the Delhi airport on Sunday, was booked after he was found to have concealed gold worth Rs 22.2 lakh in an adaptor. In another case, two men from UP were booked for hiding gold paste in undergarments. The gold, weighing 931.6 grams, was worth Rs 68.9 lakh.
"X-ray scans revealed two gold bars weighing 300 grams cleverly concealed inside an adaptor," stated Delhi Customs on X in connection with the first incident. An official said further investigation was underway. A video shared by a customs official on X shows an official breaking the adaptor into pieces using a hammer, which yields two gold bars.
