Chhapra: The state govt has sanctioned posts of associate and assistant professors in eight more subjects, similar number of posts of non-teaching employees for these subjects in postgraduate departments at the Jai Prakash University (JPU). The govt has also sanctioned 24 posts of teachers and non-teaching employees in Bhola Prasad Singh College, constituent unit of JPU, at Bhore in Gopalganj district, in order to improve quality of higher education of rural students.
Quoting a letter dated December 5 received under the signature of Amit Kumar Pushpak, deputy secretary of the state govt, PRO of JPU, Rajesh Pandey, said the govt has sanctioned one post of associate and two posts of assistant professors each in botany, zoology, psychology, English, philosophy, Urdu, Sanskrit and home science along with one lab bearer and one lab in-charge each for these subjects, except Sanskrit.
Earlier, the state govt had sanctioned posts of teachers in Hindi, history, political science, economics, geography, chemistry, physics and commerce. The postgraduate departments till date were running with the teachers of other colleges.
In Bhola Prasad Singh College, the govt has sanctioned one post of assistant professor and one post of associate professor each in physics, zoology, botany, chemistry, psychology and Sanskrit departments along with lab incharge each, except Sanskrit.
The govt has also estimated a possible expenditure of over Rs 4.12 crore on annual salary of associate and assistant professors in PG departments at JPU, and over Rs 2.96 crore for teachers and non-teaching staff at Bhola Prasad Singh College.
