Imphal: The second edition of North East India Film Festival (NEIFF) 2025 Manipur will be held from Feb 12-16 at TanthaPolis cinema, Lamphel in Imphal.
THOUNA, Manipur is organising the 2nd NEIFF 2025 Manipur, collaborating with Film Forum Manipur and department of information and public relations, Govt of Manipur. The ministry of information and broadcasting, Government of India and National Film Development Corporation are sponsoring the event.
The announcement was made by Y Nilachandra Singh, chairman of the organising committee, at a press conference in the DIPR office conference hall. "We had successfully organized the First NEIFF 2024 at Imphal from 3 to 7 March, 2024. This time, too, we expect participation of filmmakers and producers of 8 NE states — Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura," he said.
Singh said the festival aims to promote films demonstrating aesthetic excellence and social significance, highlighting the traditional cultures of the communities of the northeast through cinema, thus fostering national unity.
All participating films must obtain CBFC certification between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2024.
The 2nd NEIFF 2025, Manipur will present awards in these categories — Best Feature Film, Best Director of Feature Film, Best Screenplay of Feature Film, Best Cinematography of Feature, Best Editing of Feature Film, Best Sound of Feature Film, The Hon'ble Jury Award of Feature Film and Best Non Feature Film along with citation, statuette & cash.
Participants must pay a non-refundable entry fee of Rs 1000 for feature films and Rs 500 for non-feature films through online submission.
