Koderma: A heavy vehicle carrying iron rods overturned near Jamsoti Nala along the Ranchi - Patna road, leading to severe traffic congestion lasting over 18 hours. The accident took place on Saturday evening, roughly 6 km from the district headquarters on Ranchi - Patna road.
Koderma police station officer-in-charge, Sujit Kumar, arrived at the scene to manage the situation. However, clearing the road proved challenging due to large iron rods scattered around. Vehicles queued up extensively on both sides, with congestion continuing until Sunday morning, affecting thousands of travellers.
Koderma SP said, "At 11.45 am today (Sunday), five police station officers were assigned to resolve the situation, with hydra and crane machines deployed for assistance and clear the road."
The truck was en route to Patna when the incident occurred. The driver and the khalasi abandoned the vehicle but escaped unharmed.
The road was finally cleared at around 2.30 pm and the traffic was restored.
