The Delhi High Court has reportedly summoned top SpiceJet officials on Monday for failure to comply with an earlier order to pay $6 million to engine lessor Team France. The development came mere days after the low-cost carrier said that it had cleared all employee provident fund dues worth 160.07 crore that were pending for over two years.

According to CNBC TV18, the court has asked the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer of SpiceJet to appear in person over the matter. Company records however indicate that there is no individual currently holding those roles — with only Ajay Singh listed as Chairman and Managing Director.

Engine lessors, Team France 01 SAS and Sunbird France 02 SAS had initiated legal action against SpiceJet demanding the return of aircraft engines due to non-payment of contractual obligations following the termination of their agreements.
