The third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test between India and Australia which began in Brisbane on Friday, saw only 13.2 overs completed on the first day with rain bringing an early end to proceedings.
Though the ground boasts a state-of-the-art drainage system, the heavy downpour meant the outfield could not be match-ready in time. Australia was 28 for no loss at Stumps.
The second day had no such stoppages, with over 88 overs being bowled and Australia racing to 405/7 at stumps thanks to hundreds from Travis Head and Steve Smith.
The forecast looks ominous for Day 3 though, with a high percentage of rain forecast throughout the morning and afternoon in Brisbane. As per the current forecast, very minimal play will be possible on Monday.
