Agartala: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has scheduled a Raj Bhavan Abhiyan for Wednesday, aligning with its nationwide campaign to protest against the alleged poor governance of the BJP-led central administration.
TPCC president Ashis Kumar Saha indicated that their demonstration would focus on issues including favouritism towards corporations, poor economic management, and declining national security. He stated that the govt has established connections between business investments and preferential capital, significantly damaging the national economy.
He pointed out the substantial growth of the Adani Group during Modi's leadership, suggesting that the organisation's rapid financial expansion resulted from questionable practices, including alleged securities market violations. He contested that Adani's transformation from trading commodities to becoming globally second-wealthiest was through preferential treatment rather than legitimate business growth.
"In 2019, BJP spent Rs 27,000 crore on elections, which rose to Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000 crore in 2024 and the source is unethical corporate funding. Congress vows to continue its fight against what it terms a nexus between Modi govt and corporate entities that caused severe economic disaster in the country," Saha said.
He criticised the PM's response to critical national issues, particularly the situation in Manipur. He noted that despite over 200 fatalities, thousands displaced, and ongoing violence, the PM prioritises international travel and protecting corporate interests.
