Panaji: A 22-year-old resident of Tiswadi was arrested in connection with an alleged rape case. Based on the complaint of a 25-year-old woman, who is a native of Hyderabad, Panaji police registered the rape case and arrested the accused.
The survivor said that from July 2024 to Dec 14, 2024, the accused person forced her to have sexual intercourse with him and also threatened her with dire consequences to her life. She also stated that the accused abused her.
Police said that the survivor, in her complaint, stated that the accused assaulted her when she approached to inform him that she would disclose to her parents that he forced sexual intercourse with her. Lady police sub inspector Rashmika J Kavlekar is investigating the case.
