Silchar: Assam govt has decided to construct a mini stadium at Cachar district's Dwarbond under the Dholai assembly segment.
State minister for sports and youth welfare Nandita Gorlosa on Monday said designed to nurture emerging talent, this facility is expected to inspire a new generation of athletes. She also announced Phase I of the Cachar district stadium modernisation, which is funded under the United Fund for 2022-23. "This ambitious endeavour aims to raise the district's sporting facilities to national standards, fostering an environment conducive to excellence," she added.
During a meeting at the Cachar DC's office, Gorlosa said plans have been checked out for the restoration of Silchar's historic Circuit House, a heritage site that will soon undergo a comprehensive makeover. Balancing history with modernisation, the project aims to preserve the landmark's cultural legacy, while integrating modern facilities, she added.
