Amritsar: A 22-year-old Punjabi girl student, pursuing a hospitality management course in British Columbia, tragically lost her life after a tree fell on her at James Lake where she had gone camping with friends. Canadian media reports quoting Royal Canadian Mounted Police say Ritika Rajput lived in Kelowna, British Columbia, and had died on Dec 7. The incident has been deemed nonsuspicious, say media reports quoting RCMP.
Reports also quote a common friend, Amarjit Lalli, trying to raise funds to send Ritika’s body back to India.
Balwinder ‘Bob’ Heer, based in Surrey, is organising a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe on behalf of Lalli to repatriate the body.
