Jaipur: The results of the annual elections for 230 registered bar associations in the state for 2024–25 were declared on Saturday. There were moments of joy and disappointment, but in the end, those who lost the elections graciously greeted the winners and thanked the voters for their support.
In the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association elections, Mahendra Shandilya was elected as president, securing 1,664 votes and defeating Rajiv Kumar, who came second with 1,453 votes. Ramit Pareek was elected as general secretary with 1,480 votes. Similarly, Babu Lal Sharma and Vandana Sharma were elected as vice-presidents. Other winners included Saurabh Dubey as joint secretary, Govind Sharma as treasurer, and Sunita Meena as cultural secretary.
As the results were announced, Shandilya's supporters celebrated jubilantly, as he was elected president of the High Court Bar Association for the third time.
Likewise, Gajraj Singh Rajawat was declared victorious in the District Bar Association Jaipur elections, winning the president's post by a margin of 314 votes.
Narendra Singh Rajawat was elected as general secretary with a margin of 111 votes. Dilip Singh and Prem Prakash Sharma won the two vice-president posts. In the Udaipur District Bar Association elections, Chandrabhan Singh Shaktawat secured the president's post, defeating Chetan Puri Goswami, by 84 votes.
