Ludhiana: An outburst by senior Congress leader Ishwarjot Singh Cheema against senior Congress leaders on Facebook live brought the rift in the party out in the open.
In an impassioned post, Cheema accused the party of ignoring party loyalists. He alluded to cases filed against a few leaders and urged voters to choose people with “good conduct and etiquettes.”
The public show of dissent, coming ahead of the MC election, is not unexpected as the Congress is not new to such rifts. In his Facebook live, Cheema spewed vitriol against leaders facing different charges.
He said, “People must save themselves from turncoats who joined each party for professional benefits.”
District Congress president Sanjay Talwar and president, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Amarinder Singh Raja Warring were not available for comment.
