Mumbai defeated Madhya Pradesh by five wickets in the final to win its second Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title on Sunday.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side chased down a 175-run target with more than two overs to spare to register its second win in three years after the 2022 campaign.
Mumbai is now the fourth team to get hands on the SMAT title two times; Tamil Nadu has won the tournament thrice.
This was Mumbai’s second final in SMAT, and it has won both the games; Madhya Pradesh lost its second final after reaching the decider after 14 years.
