Aizawl: The 20th battalion of BSF organised a weapon exhibition at the battalion headquarters at Zotlang in southern Mizoram's Lunglei town for NCC cadets of the 2nd Mizo Battalion National Corps Cadet (NCC).
An official statement issued Sunday said the event aimed to familiarise the cadets with various modern weaponry to enhance their understanding of the latest weaponry and special equipment being used by forces for security of the nation. It also aimed to motivate the young generation to join the forces as their career.
About 150 NCC cadets participated in the event and showed their keen interest in developing a better understanding of weapons and the role of BSF in maintaining peace and tranquility at the border.
Neeraj Sharma, Commandant, 20 Bn BSF and Col Aman Chowdhary, Commanding Officer, 2nd Mizo Bn NCC emphasised the importance of such events in promoting discipline and patriotism among youth, highlighting the value of such interactions in inspiring cadets to pursue careers in defence and security services.
The event culminated with full zeal and enthusiasm, the statement added.
