Kanpur: In Etawah district, a minor filed allegations against three individuals, including two transgender persons, for forcing him to undergo gender reassignment surgery.
The victim, accompanied by his parents, visited the Kotwali police station on Saturday to lodge a formal complaint against the accused. A 17-year-old youth from Karhal, Mainpuri, who performs dance at religious events and functions to support his parents, said that he met a local youth about six months ago who later introduced him to two transgender persons.
The complaint said that, on Rakshabandhan, the three accused took him to the Pathwariya area behind the Naurangabad outpost in Etawah where they gave him some sedative following which he lost consciousness. He was then taken to a hospital in Bewar Mainpuri for gender reassignment procedure. The boy said that on regaining consciousness he found that the surgery was performed on him without his consent. He further stated that after the surgery he was held captive by the accused for five months and managed to escape three days ago.
The boy also alleged that he had some health complications following the forced surgery. On reaching home he informed his family about the entire matter. He said that the accused are making threatening calls to his family now. Inspector Kotwali Bhimsen Pauniya has confirmed the registration of the complaint and assured appropriate action after a thorough investigation.
"During preliminary investigations, the boy told investigators that due to a poor financial background, he used to earn a living by dancing at festivals. We are searching for the hospital where he underwent gender change surgery. After collecting all the facts and evidences, we will take strong action against the accused," said Kotwali police station in charge further.
